In honor of today's elections, I've set up a poll over in the right sidebar. The topic?

What has been the hardest part of your current weight loss journey?

I'll think I'll leave this poll up for a week. In the meantime, feel free to discuss your answers in the comments.

I chose eating out. It's fairly easy for me to stay on track when I'm at home as I can easily control my choices about what I eat. Going out the choices tend to be unhealthier.

I handle all those things well as long as I keep my eye on the ball. The only problem I've had in the previous two years is letting my motivation lapse occasionally and then everything else suffers. I have definitely made progress since switching to Core...both physically and nutritionally.

Eating out is really more trouble than it is worth. I agonize over my selection, worrying about what they have put into the dish or how it was prepared. Part of that is my OCD and part of it is knowing how I can blow my entire day's calories in one wrong selection. Consequently the hubby and I have cut WAY back on eating out. I would say it has saved us a lot of money but I think the money I've saved has gone into rather elaborate shopping lists! On the plus side, I have reenergized my interest in cooking, which had been dormant for a few years. This restaurant phobia of mine is something I've got to come to grips with as I settle into maintenance.

Thanks for participating, everyone!

I choose "Other" because I find that if my planning is off, I find it a lot tougher to make good choices.

For example, if I forget to go shopping, I find myself without the fruits and veggies I need to have around the house or without the ingredients to cook my lunches ahead of time for the week which leaves me at the mercy of the crapateria at work.
